The Grounded Practice

Professional Consultation

  • Are you an early-career mental health clinician feeling overwhelmed, uncertain, or stretched too thin? The journey of helping children, families, and schools can be deeply rewarding—but it’s also demanding. If you’re experiencing burnout, imposter syndrome, or questioning your career path, The Grounded Practice peer consultation is for you.

    You’re Not Alone

Many clinicians in the first few years feel:

    • Burned out from juggling complex caseloads, large client populations, and administrative demands.

    • Isolated in their role, unsure where to turn for advice, support, or validation.

    • Overwhelmed by the steep learning curve and the constant pressure to be the expert.

    • Stuck in feelings of self-doubt, questioning whether they’re good enough—or even in the right profession.

    • Disconnected from the passion that first led them to this career.

If this resonates with you, know that it’s not a sign of failure—it’s a sign that you need support.

  • Peer support with an expert guide is designed to provide practical tools and meaningful outcomes that you can apply immediately to your professional and personal life. Here’s what you’ll achieve:

    • A Supportive Network: Develop relationships with other clinicians who understand the challenges you face. You’ll leave each session feeling connected, understood, and less isolated in your role.

    • Tools for Building Confidence: Discover how to combat imposter syndrome by identifying your strengths, celebrating your successes, and gaining clarity about your unique contributions to your school and community.

    • Career Planning Clarity: Explore your long-term goals and create a roadmap to align your daily work with your personal values and aspirations in the mental health field.

    • Conflict Resolution Skills: Gain practical strategies to navigate difficult conversations with colleagues, administrators, and parents, helping you feel more prepared and effective in challenging situations.

    • Improved Efficiency: Learn tips and tricks to manage caseloads, organize paperwork, and streamline your processes, so you can focus more on the meaningful aspects of your work.

    • Personalized Guidance: Receive actionable advice tailored to your specific concerns and challenges, helping you feel more confident in making decisions and solving problems.

  • Professional Consultations are held on a 1 on 1 basis. Each session lasts approximately 50 minutes.

    • Led by an Experienced Guide: The meeting is facilitated by a dually licensed Texas school psychologist/Psychological Associate with nearly 15 years of experience in the field.

    • A Safe, Collaborative Space: Share your experiences, ask questions, and grow as you discuss challenges and overcome fears.
